(*This meeting is immediately following the AAAW monthly Dinner 6:30 – 7:45 pm at Phnom Penh Noodle House at 660 South King St., Seattle)
The PROGRAM: The official program will begin Fall 2013 (October), but we are recruiting mentors to begin with the SPRING/SUMMER KICKOFF program and to continue into the 2013-2014 program.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: The program consists of monthly events with adult and youth adoptees. Small groups of mentors and mentees will be formed (so you will not have a one-on-one pair.) Events will generally be on 3rd Saturday of every month. Events are still to be determined but FUN things like: trampoline parties, picnics, outdoor movies, and other activities which we all enjoyed as kids. The most significant piece is that you will be building relationships with young adoptees and truly impacting our community.
THE COMMITMENT: We are asking that mentors commit to attending as many events as possible, at least three quarters of all events, and to think about the time commitment. This is really for the youth and being consistent.
