Apply Now For 4-Month "Korea Immersion Program" for Korean Adoptees at Inje University

The “Korean Immersion Program” operated by Inje University, in Gimhae, Korea, offers a unique opportunity for adult Korean adoptees to return to the land of their birth in order to learn about its language, culture, and history. It is a rare chance to understand their motherland. It will also help them make enduring connections with Korea even after they return to their own home countries and people. The program’s purpose is to help adult Korean adoptees increase their awareness about Korea.

Entirely subsidized by Inje University, the Korean Immersion Program provides a four-month stay in Korea with free room and board in the university residence halls, daily classes in Korean language and culture, and access to computer and fitness facilities on campus. It also provides several trips to scenic and cultural sites around the country, opportunities for home stays, and chances to form friendships with Korean roommates and with fellow adoptees participating in the program. The only costs for those selected for the program are a $600 entrance fee, air fare and pocket money. In addition, participants are asked to teach daily English conversation classes to Korean students.

The Korean Immersion Program is operated by the Inje Institute for International Human Resources(IIIHR) at Inje University. More information can be found on the program’s web site at http://www.iiihr.net. Those interested in the program can also contact the program manager, Hee -Jung Kim, by e-mail at hheejungkim79@hotmail.com .

OKF Korean Summer Cultural Program (2007)

The Overseas Koreans Foundation (OKF) is pleased to invite Korean adoptees residing abroad to the Summer Cultural Program. The program focuses on Korean culture, history, customs, and language; but these are not the only things the program offers. A great number of opportunities during the program will help adoptees learn about their motherland, enhance awareness of adoption issues, and build bridges among Korean adoptees across the continents. We promise a terrific summer program with sightseeing and fun times, as well as priceless memories to take back home with you.
Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
