Tim
Holm
Tim is a
mixed-race Korean adoptee, born July 9, 1957 in Seoul, and adopted
through Holt in mid-1959 to a family in Oregon. He first returned
to Korea in 1977, and then again in 1987. On this second trip to
Korea, in October 1987, he met his wife, Kim, who was working at
Holt. They corresponded for a few months, and Tim returned to
Korea in May 1988 and married Kim. By the end of 2003, Tim has
returned to Korea thirty four times.
Tim is a manager with a local CPA firm in Seattle, where he has
worked since late 1979. Tim is a graduate of Seattle Pacific
University (BA, 1979). Tim and Kim have a lovely young daughter,
Jackie. Kim and Jackie are fluent in Korean, but Tim is
Korean-language challenged. Each summer they lead family tours of
adoptees and their families to Korea, and 2003 marks their
12th tour group.
Tim is
also the Treasurer of the Korean Identity Development Society
(KIDS), and has been a Board member since 1987. Tim has been
involved in AAAW since 1999 and joined the AAAW Board at the end
of 2000 as Treasurer, and was elected President in 2003.
Currently, Tim is chairing the International Planning Committee
for the Korean Adoptee Gathering in August 2004 in Seoul, Korea,
which will bring together more than 600 Korean adoptees from 14
countries. Tim is also an advisory committee member for the
Advisory Council on Inter-country Adoption (ACIA), which is a
collaboration of national organizations recognized as leaders in
the ethical and professional practice of adoption and child
welfare services.

Tiffany
Sciborski
Tiffany was adopted from Seoul,
S. Korea in 1972 at the age of nine months.
She lived with her adoptive family in Grand Forks North
Dakota.
She moved out to Seattle with her husband in 98 to attend
massage therapy school while her husband
acquired his master’s Degree in acupuncture.
Tiffany is currently enjoying her busy time at home with
her son, as well as working as a Hospital administrator part time. She
joined AAAW in 2001 and become a board member in January 2002 then
elected VP of Operations in 2003. She
looks forward to a successful year with AAAW and welcomes any
suggestions, ideas, or comments to improve AAAW’s value to our
adoptees.

Jennifer Kelly
Jennifer was born in Seoul,
Korea. At the age of 10, she and her older brother were
adopted by the Palmer family in a rare open adoption. She
left her Korean mother and joined her "American" family who
already had two children adopted from Korea, two children from Vietnam and
two biological children. Growing up in Iowa, she
was involved in International Culture Camp every summer.
Upon completing her college studies in Iowa, she moved to Sydney
Australia to be with her husband whom she had met in college.
Jenny lived and worked in Sydney for a total of 8 years.
Jenny also traveled extensively for three years covering many
countries in Asia including a month in Korea and also Europe
with over a year spent living and working in London.
Her years of traveling were by far one of the most educational and
enriching experiences. She has worked as a hospitality
industry professional for over 12 years, in food and beverage
management roles as well as hospitality sales. Jenny has been an
active member since 1999 with AAAW and was elected Secretary at
the end of 2000 then VP of Communications in 2003. She currently resides in Queen Anne with
her husband and enjoys being a "Full Time Mom" to their
young son.

Amber Bray
Amber was born
in Kwangju, Korea on June 25th 1977. She was adopted at
two years old and joined her family on August 22nd
1979, which she celebrates every year. She grew up in Bothell with
her two older brothers until her parents divorce and then moved to
Kent. She worked as a flight attendant for over a year and during
that time is when she met her husband while he was in the
military. She then worked as a nanny for two years and during that
time her Korean family contacted her in 2001. Later that year she
met them on Tim Holm’s adoptee tour. She is happy to be on the
AAAW board since they have provided her with a lot of support.
Amber has been a board member since 2002 and was elected Secretary
in 2003. She and
her husband are currently living in Kent. They are currently
raising their young daughter and Amber works part time at Ikea.

Andy Beil
Andy was born in Pusan S. Korea
in 1977. At the age of 4 1/2 months, he was adopted by the
Beil family of Bainbridge Island. He has a younger sister who is also
adopted, an older sister and a younger brother. Andy is currently a
part-time student at the
University of Washington majoring in math with a minor in
business. Andy is currently a manager in training at Ototo
restaurant in Queen Anne. Andy is a former president of AAAW and
is a former board member of K.I.D.S (Korean Identity Development
Society). Andy is also the Assistant Director for the HOLT
Heritage Camps this summer, traveling to various locations through
out the U.S. Andy has returned to Korea on three separate
occasions with Tim and Kim Holm's annual Korean Adoptee Family
Tours. ........................................

Michael
Hougham
Michael was born in Seoul Korea in 1972 and
was adopted at the age of 5. He was raised in various small towns in
Washington State. After High School, Michael joined the United
States Air Force and was stationed in Korea for his first
assignment. Michael has since returned to Korea a few times and has
lived in Korea for over 3 years. Michael holds an Associate of
Applied Science in Electronic Systems Technology, and is on the
brink of obtaining his B.S. in Management. In 1998, Michael was
relieved from the Air Force and joined the Washington Air National
Guard. Currently, Michael operates MCH Inc. an IT/Telecom consulting
firm. His major client is Comcast formally AT&T Broadband. He enjoys
the IT/Telecom industry and has been in the field for over 13 years.
Michael lives in the Tacoma/Federal Way area with his two dogs.

Anne-Marie Betts
Anne-Marie
Betts was born in Kwangju, Korea on November 13th 1981
along with her twin sister Teresa. At a year and a half, she
was adopted by Michael and Michele Betts whom already had two
biological children, Beau and Michaela. For most of
Anne-Marie’s childhood, she was raised in Edmonds, Washington,
except for five years that was spent in Beaverton, Oregon.
After high school, Annie attended Central Washington University
for a year then
decided to move home and pursue her AA-Degree at Shoreline
Community College. She has recently graduated from Shoreline and
is attending Washington State University to pursue a career in
Broadcast Journalism. Annie plans to graduate with a degree in
Journalism with a minor in Political Science. In her free time
she enjoys running, swimming, and playing indoor soccer. Besides
sports she is active in local politics and works at Ann Taylor.
This is Anne-Marie’s first year on the Asian Adult Adoptees of
Washington board. She was introduced to Tim and Kim Holm prior to
her trip to Korea on his adoptee family tour. She visited Seoul, Korea with her twin sister
in 2001 for the first time. Since then, she has been
very active in AAAW.

Teresa Betts
Teresa Betts
was born on November 13, 1981 in Kwangju, South Korea. At a year
and a half, her parents adopted her along with her twin sister.
Teresa mostly grew up in Edmonds Washington but for a short while
lived in Beaverton Oregon. Currently, Miss Betts is living in
Ellensburg Washington to pursue a degree in Elementary Special
Education at Central Washington University. She works part time
as a tutor at a local elementary school in Ellensburg. In her
spare time she likes to play soccer, ski, camp, and hike. Both
Teresa and her twin sister went back to South Korea for the first
time in 2001 and since then has been actively involved with AAAW.

Camille Beck
Camille was born
in Tongyong, South Korea in
1987, and adopted at the age of six months by the Beck family in
Seattle, WA. Camille is in her junior year at Franklin High School,
where she is Treasurer of the Key Club. In addition to working
two part time jobs, and doing homework, she is learning to golf;
enjoys skiing and hanging out with her friends. Camille has
traveled to Korea several times and is enjoying getting to know
her birth family in Tongyong. The AAAW teen events are FUN -
please join us!

Kevin Driscoll
Kevin was born in Incheon, South
Korea in 1986. At three months old he was adopted by the Driscoll
family in Seattle, Washington. Currently, he is finishing his
last two years at Nathan Hale High School. Kevin has participated
in Korean Culture Camp with K.I.D.S and Holt Heritage Camps during
the summer. In his spare time Kevin enjoys playing soccer,
running, and skiing. He has returned to Korea twice with Kim and
Tim Holm's adoptee family tour. Kevin has been on the AAAW Teen
committee since the beginning of 2003 and encourages other teen
adoptees to submit ideas for activities and events for the coming
year.

Katie Tupper
Katie Tupper was adopted at the age of 6 mo. from South Korea.
Her arrival into her new life came on July 4th, 1977. She
joined her parents and a brother who was also adopted from Korea.
Katie grew up in S. Bellevue with her family until she left for
College. Five years ago she and four others decided to organize
the Asian Adult Adoptees of Washington. Currently, Miss Tupper is
finishing up her degree in American Ethnic Studies at the
University of Washington-where she has done much research in the
area of Asian adoption and adoptees. Katie enjoys the
performing arts where she's had the honor to play roles such as
Maria in "West Side Story" and Luisa in "The
Fantasticks"-both NWAAT (Northwest Asian American Theater)
productions. As a co-founder/former Vice president, Katie would
like to welcome anyone who may have an interest in AAAW to feel
free to contact us. AAAW is constantly growing and positively
impacting more and more people each year and she hopes that you
will want to be a part of this wonderful organization of people.
Katie is very proud to say that she has been a part of AAAW
from it's birth and would like to thank everyone, who has worked
very hard at making AAAW where it is today, including her family
who has been there for her from the beginning.

Barbara
Kim
Barbara
was born in Korea and upon the death of her mother, entered Ilsan
Orphanage, at the age of 8. She was adopted by a family in
Nebraska at age 10. She received a bachelor’s degree in
Criminal Justice, an associate degree in nursing, a master's
degree in social work from the University of Nebraska and a
certificate in advanced business administration from the
University of Washington. She has over 19 years of
experience in social service, focusing primarily in international
adoption and child welfare issues. She is currently with
Bethany Christian Services as an International Adoption
Coordinator and with Providence Hospice of Seattle as a hospice
triage nurse. She is a wife, mother, and grandmother and
lives in Bellevue, Washington.
